The Finnish Women's Box Lacrosse National Team is inviting motivated and competitive players to join the journey toward Praha26.
Women´s first European Championships in Box Lacrosse - Praha26
The Championships in Prague will take place from June 24 to July 4, 2026. The championships are played on some of the rinks which we are familiar with from the Shebox and other tournaments in Prague, LCC Radotin, TJ Malesice and Jizni Mesto. The World Lacrosse Box Championships last year taught a lot and although the team was inexperienced, they improved with each game, never gave up or lost the spirit or stopped supporting each other. for the brave women who never gave up for any of their opponents, which all were more experienced in the sport than this team and they kept learning from game to game. Significant progress was also seen after the World Championships as the team joined Shebox in Prague and showed the potential all that was learned from Utica 2024.
With nearly a year until the European Championships, and if such development continues, the Finnish team will be a serious contender in the first-ever Women´s European Box Lacrosse Championship tournament.
OPEN TRAINING CAMPS SUMMER 2025
The next opportunity to participate is on Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24 in Turku. On Saturday there is open training sessions at 10.00 and 14.00. On Sunday, the players can take part in the national mixed box lacrosse league opener at 10.00, followed by another women’s open training session at 14.00.
- Training on Saturday: at 10.00-12.00 and 14.00-16.00
- Sunday mixed league game: at 10.00-12.00
- Training on Sunday: at 14.00-16.00
Open training sessions and a mixed league game will also be held in
September during the weekend of
September 13–14.

TRY OUTS
The team trains monthly in Finland, and all upcoming camps after September will serve as tryouts for the national team selection.
- In November, the team will participate in Sheboxmania in Lille, France, on November 29–30, 2025.
- In April 2026, the Shebox tournament will be held in Prague. All countries attending the European Championships 2026 are expected to send their teams to this tournament. Shebox will be the final opportunity to make an impression before the team selection. The squad for the European Championships will be announced after Shebox.
PREPARATION
The team is looking for players who are ready to grow and commit to this shared journey toward the European Championships in Prague. Women’s box lacrosse is still in its early stages in Europe and in Finland, we already have players who gained valuable experience from the WLBC2026 and will form a strong core for the team moving forward. However, no final selections have been made — and there is room for new motivated players!
The national team trains monthly, with the main goal being the continuous development of both the team and individual players. As women’s box lacrosse is still developing in Europe, the outcome of the upcoming Championships depends on how each team improves over the coming months. Anything is possible! The European Championships will also serve as a qualifier for the 2028 World Championships.
Finnish players living abroad — or those with Finnish heritage — are also warmly welcome to register and attend tryouts.
