Invitation to Men's National Box Lacrosse Team Tryouts & The PRAHA26 Project
The Finnish Men's National Box Lacrosse Team is inviting motivated and competitive players to join the Praha26 project, to build the strongest possible team for the 2026 European Box Lacrosse Championships, scheduled in Prague from June 24 to July 4, 2026 (as listed on the ELF calendar).
Preparations are well underway — we've already received accommodation offers and are far along in the planning process. We can confidently say that the tournament cost per player will remain reasonable. Our head coach, Tracey Kelusky, will continue to lead the team.
FIRST TEAM ACTIVITY – AUGUST 24, 2025 – TURKU, FINLAND
This will be the first opportunity to meet, train, and play together as a group.
- Training: 12:15–14:00
- Scrimmage (Box Monkeys vs Rest of Finland): 16:00–17:30
The game will be played according to FMC rules, with 3 x 12-minute periods.
OFFICIAL TRYOUT PHASES
- October 3 to 5th, 2025 – Turku, Finland
- April 2026 – Prague, at the E-Box Tournament, where we will play friendly matches against other national teams.
Between autumn and spring, the tryout pool will be gradually narrowed, and final roster spots will be contested at E-Box. In other words, every team event over the winter will serve as a tryout opportunity.
TEAM PREPARATION
Starting October 2025, the national team will train monthly in Finland. The goal is to build a strong, unified, and competitive roster for the European Championships.
We are seeking players who are committed to a long-term, high-performance project. The sole objective is winning the European Championship, which means the final team will be the best available group, in peak condition and well-prepared to compete at the highest level.
Players living abroad or with Finnish heritage are highly encouraged to participate — international interest has been exceptional so far.
TRAINING LOCATIONS
We're still open to suggestions regarding winter training locations. While the Turku region has affordable indoor facilities, the team can train anywhere in southern Finland. If you have a suggestion, please send us a contact name and details (or a link) to help us evaluate local options.
