The Finnish Lacrosse Association was found in 2001. Its main duties are organisatory and administrative duties of lacrosse in Finland. The FLA is the representative for lacrosse Finland and it works for the benefit of developing the game in Finland.

The FLA is a full member of the Eupean Lacrosse Federation, ELF and the Federation of International Lacrosse, FIL. One of the biggest accomplishments of the FLA was organizing the 2008 European Championships in Lahti, Finland. In 2012 Finland will also host the U19 Lacrosse World Championships in Turku, Finland.
